Madrid, Spain

Madrid is one of my favourite places in Europe, I went for the first time for my 21st birthday, it was a surprise from my family and it was amazing but I could easily return a few more times without getting bored.
There is so much to eat, see and do.

This time I booked a last minute trip with my sisters and cousins, it was early March so the weather wasn’t great. Despite the rain, it was warmer than London and we were there for a special occasion.
A couple of years ago I met my cousin Sergio, son of the amazing, legendary footballer Laurie Cunningham. We have spent some time over the years getting to know him but as he lives in Madrid we don’t get to see him as much as we would like to.

March 2nd was his 30th Birthday and we decided to surprise him. He had no idea we were coming but the look on his face when he saw us was priceless.

The first day we spent eating in his amazing restaurants. They are both located in Chueca and If you go to Madrid you MUST eat at these two places.

The first is Moshing Madrid. The food was DIVINE and the wine list is amazing. The Spanish eat late in the day and lunch is like dinner but try the seafood pasta, it was literally the best pasta I have ever tasted.

The second place is Babel restaurant which is located about a five-minute walk from the Metro station, Chueca. Again, the food is amazing, the tapas is SO GOOD and you must try the seafood Paella. So, dreamy!

On Friday evening we went out to Kapital nightclub which was okay! It is consisting of 4 floors all with different types of music. I think the Spanish party way too late and way to early into the morning. I like my sleep. We got home at 6am.

Saturday and Sunday before we left were mostly spent being a tourist. If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen this on my stories but there is literally so much to see and the architecture in the city is just amazing.

Places to see:
  • Botanical gardens
  •  Gran Via
  • Museo Del Prado
  • Reina Sofia
  • Casa De Campo
We went to the botanical gardens which cost around £4, it was a bit grey but that is due to the weather. In the summertime, it will definitely be an amazing place to visit and shoot.
If you do decide to go make sure you take your camera, I think regardless of the weather, Madrid is an amazing city to visit and if you go to eat Churros because they are amazing.

Have you been to Madrid and did you love it?
