When I first started blogging it was all about the numbers, people pretended to not care about getting followers but everyone knew that if you wanted to work with brands playing the numbers game was the way forward.

This is why people started buying fake followers, following and unfollowing became a thing (is still a thing actually, a corny thing) and people in the bloggersphere just wanted to hit milestones.

 know everyone thinks it is super cliche to create resolutions for the new year but there is something special about having a brand new year to start fresh and do something spectacular. 

Every year in December I like to take the time to reflect on the months that have gone by and think about what I want to achieve in the year ahead. Writing my goals down is like manifestation for me, I refer back to them every so often and make sure I am taking actionable steps to achieve them. This post was originally titled 'Here's what happened when I switched to Instagram for business' because I switched to a business account about a week ago and I was going to give it at least a month before I came back and wrote this post but the honest truth is I just hate it so much. 

If you speak to anyone about Instagram they'll tell you they hate the algorithm, the shadow ban is so annoying etc but no one really mentions the fact that Instagram for business drastically reduces your post reach so you have no choice but to spend money on ads to push your content.

 Everyone got pretty drawn in when Instagram introduced business because the analytics and insights are quite good, but is it worth the decline in reach and engagements?
